Scammers are Targeting Ladies on Social Media.

Shine your eyes!

Scammers in Nigeria are now targeting beautiful women as bait. One needs to be very careful on who they interact with on social media as these people are heartless and pose like they are in need of a serious relationship. If you are not careful, you would fall into their trap and end up sending money to them that you may never recover.

I almost fell victim of this but thank Goodness for my smart sisters that brought me back to reality. It’s important to understand that almost everything on social media isn’t real, no matter the angle you want to look at it. The lifestyle, the houses, the cars and also the motivational speech. They are all lies from the deepest pit of hell.

I really don’t like responding to the messages on my Instagram but for some reasons, I decided to pick one lucky person but unfortunately, the lucky person was a fraudster.

He was quite an attractive person but it almost looked like his has bleached his life out. His knuckles was a mixture of black, green, purple, yellow and red, so most times, he takes pictures with Snapchat to hide the horrendous knuckles. According to him, he was quite tall, twenty-six years, single dad because his girlfriend died at childbirth. We never met in person. All our communication was on social media.

We started texting on Instagram but I noticed, he couldn’t keep a conversation going. He wasn’t so intelligent, so there was nothing to talk about. He was all about being lonely, how he has yearned for true love since his girlfriend died. He talked about how he didn’t trust women because they are all after his money. He made it look like he was so wealthy and doing fine but when I asked for his occupation, he couldn’t give me a coherent answer. His reply was thus —

I was expecting the Bitcoin thing. It is the modern way to cover up cyber fraud for some certain people.

Another interesting thing I noticed when we exchanged numbers was that he was a show off and in less than two weeks, he had bought two cars, completed his house and bought a gold chain worth $8000 in just two weeks. I did not pay attention to this until he decided to show himself.

Around 6:30am which is the time I wake up every morning, I checked my phone to see different messages and Voice notes from him on WhatsApp. We do not really talk, like I said, he was extremely boring and dim-witted but I was going to reply him anyway.

I opened the message and I prayed silently that it should not be him begging me for urgent 2k. Lo and behold, it was for money.

I listened to the vn and I wasn’t surprised at the content of the message —

I was actually broke that period but all I could think of was how to help him. He sent me pictures of his sick son, the test results and the hospital bill. A voice in my head told me to show my elder sis who is a doctor. I forwarded the videos, pictures and voice notes to her.

While I was waiting for my sister’s reply, I decided to do my own investigation. I googled the clinic and I discovered it does not exist in Delta state where he was residing. I put the address on Google map to double check my finds, eventually, it didn’t tally with the clinic which he sent to me.

I was convinced that this guy wanted to scam me. I asked him to send THE ACCOUNT NUMBER. I didn’t want to specify the account number because I wanted him to make a fool out of himself.

Fortunately and unfortunately for him, he sent his sister’s account number. He had forgotten he told me that his sister couldn’t transfer money but yet he foolishly sent her account number. I was not expecting him to send his because I am sure he would not want to expose himself in case anything goes south.

If he had sent the hospital account number, I would have believed him and also helped him.

My sister had warned me sternly that I should block him because the test result was too fake and it was glaring.

I wanted to insult him before blocking him, I realized it was going to be a waste out time. Meanwhile, he kept asking me if I had sent the money. How could I have been his last option. I thought wealthy people roll with their class of people, what happened to his wealthy friends?

The last time this happened to me, the guy got me. In one week, he had bought house in banana island, bought cars, bought gold. He used almost the same tactics to get me and he got me, he took my money, then blocked everywhere on social media.

Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me.

You might be the next victim. Who knows?
