Difference Between Writing and Blogging

Have you ever thought about the difference?

There is a difference I've noticed between writers and bloggers on Medium.

Bloggers build their empires solely based on connection. It's through connection: talking to, collaborating, story commenting, and mentioning other bloggers to build a successful blog. There are stories detailing how to be successful on Medium and that is exactly what they said.

Writers do not. Writers write. I comment on articles I want to read and enjoyed reading. I'll make a comprehensive response. Most of my responses have landed empty, because bloggers aren't looking for those types of responses. Writers develop more indepth content, blogging is giving opinions, talking about one's day or an event, and creatively writing about something writers wouldn't even think about (i.e. taking my dog to the vet).

Additionally, like I said before, most bloggers ignore writer’s comments. But, I always respond to positive comments on all of my material. That’s the point, for people to read, learn, and interact. Blogging, not so much.

Writers would talk about a subject surrounding the vet visit, while integrating what others have said about the subject or state some research.
