Though Medium is expected to be remain a relatively open platform, not knowing upfront the inherent ins and outs about how to optimize your position for exposure and earnings on this system makes for an even more unequitable start.

I noticed this new “Listen more” button on 14 Jan 2022 while on my Firefox browser (my original story, further below) which was confusing given it seemed to be a Chrome browser extension that I had never installed or had turned on, yet it was showing up on a different browser.

It ended up happening to be ahead of the formal announcement that came from the co-founder of Knowable that Medium acquired earlier last fall 2021 (that story below).
