3 Reasons You Need A Career Hub

Below we have listed many websites for you to consider when looking for a career hub. But first lets assess why career hubs are such useful tools when looking for work.

Let’s face it, no matter what we are looking to do in this day and age we are faced with information overload. This is no different — and even more so — when looking for a new job. At this point a Career Hub can be invaluable.

Due to the fact that your career hub will be niche by a skill, experience, qualification or organisation pertinent to your chosen field it makes life much more easier for you to wrap your head around the the industry, the skills needed, the employers and how you go about putting yourself out there and in the mix for one of the roles — a tip it is never best to just blindly through your CV at the wall hoping it will stick.

It is often underestimated how important that it is now when applying for work to be fully conversant with the industry and its comings and goings. You will often find that the hiring staff undertaking the industry are both very passionate about their particular industry and have often been embedded in the industry for a long time. Therefore, it is important for you to be able to speak the language of the industry, have information of recent contract awards, completed work, news article and more importantly have an opinion on them.

Being part of a hub you should be able to get some insights about the specific industry that you are interested in which would be very difficult to get if you was part of a more generic application only job site. This will allow you to better tailor your CV or covering letter that will support your ultimate job application.

It will also be much easier to identify live roles or at least the key employers in your field.

The above first 2 reasons for being part of a Career Hub above are the prerequisites to #3 which are all about using what you have learning and becoming known in you particular niche.

Here we are looking to give you the opportunity to interact with the key employers and influencers you identified above using the information that you have learned about you particular niche. You can learn more about companies by attending events or webinars and interacting positively with the company and key stakeholder on social media. This will allow you to establish yourself as an expert in you field.

As discussed earlier the world really is your oyster and you can do as much or as little of the above as you would like — however, don’t let fear stop you in your tracks you need to be doing at least some of the below;

This is very much dependant on what you are interested in being for field of work in the future. There are many available and we have tried to list some below. If the below don’t quite fit and you decide to go it alone on google just remember that just googling “[niche] career hub” will not always work as they come under a number of guises.
