In a ‘you can feel it but you just can’t touch it’ kind of a way, we get into this weeks update

That’s right — there’s a lot to get through in what I think is going to be a pretty exciting month.

Invitations were still being given out this time last year, but the opening of the app was getting closer — September 7th was the given date.

Yes, they’re all out there. All 42,302,323,974 of them. Coingecko has caught up, Coinmarketcap not so.

This has had no discernable effect on price, but has moved Reserve up to #137 on Coingecko at time of writing. I think overall a very good way of getting the custody transfer done from January. It also means the tiny amount unlocked at mainnet will likely do nothing either. Uponly as some say.

Essentially, CVX can boost LP interest rates on Curve, so in effect Reserve is offering boosted returns to RToken creators to provide liquidity on Curve — smart move.

There are already people wanting to create tokens, so it looks like RTokens already have product-market fit. One super-simple RToken would be USDT+ where it’s simply Insured Tether. We all know getting a straight answer out of Tether as to what assets back your deposited $ is difficult, but what if it were 20% insured? That would effectively remove the question marks and provide 20% extra backing should it partially default. And would people use that RToken — I think they would.

The Operations teams have been split into 2 groups :

The important one to note here is Internal Operations. Reserve already deals with external liquidity providers. What it does not do is deal with first-party, corporate owned accounts. At least I don’t think it does. I think thus alludes to the hard landing mentioned about Mexico, where they were creating corporate entities. I think they were creating liquidity providers and some form of financial services entity. I could be wrong but I think Reserve will be directly dealing with liquidity — probably in Mexico. Prove me wrong ;-) Again — this is super exciting.

Tie this in with a corporate entity and you’ve got potentially billions of dollars a year transferred over Reserves version of OTC

I use Wise to transfer GBP to NOK for business, and I would jump at the chance of using this — would save me hundreds of ££ a year. I would also put part of the treasury in RTokens with yield. Gimme gimme.

Written by Smeddy-o, it gives a great insight into using the dApp irl. There may also be a testnet where a few can test this out coming in the next few weeks. Also, the source code will be available after mainnet for anyone who wants to build their own dApp on top of Resesrve.
